Who are the Concord Model Engineers?

The Concord Model Engineers (CME) was established in 1953  by a diverse group of model aircraft aficionados.   We are an AMA Chartered club #2130

Today our club members fly every conceivable type of model aircraft, including – Free Flight, Rubber Powered, Gliders, Gas and Electric.   These are powered by a variety of Glow Fuel Engines, Electric Motors, Gas Engines, Diesel Engines, C02 and even rubber!

We fly at several locations in the bay area including regular weekend flying at the Lime Ridge Open Space in Concord.  We are also responsible for the 2nd Oldest Control Line Field in California located at Hill Crest Park in Concord as well.

We also host the famous Devil Mountain All Electric Fun Fly Event, which is very well attended and supported every year in the fall (Sept – Oct).  Check out our picture gallery for previous years photos and be sure to come out to this year’s event, it’s one you don’t want to miss!

Our Club Meetings are held currently at 7:30PM on the second Tuesday of the month at the Calvary
Temple Church in Concord, CA.  Anyone and everyone is welcome to come to our meetings. They are held in a large gymnasium room where we regularly fly small electric RC and indoor freeflight at the meetings!

If you would like to join the Concord Model Engineers, find out more information or just have a few questions…please check out our contacts pages and feel free to contact one of our club officers.
