Flying Sites

The Concord Model Engineers fly regularly at three main locations – Lime Ridge Open Space, The Concord Model Airport our Control Line Field at Hill Crest Park and once a month indoors at our club meetings in a gymnasium.  Below is information on the two outdoor sites with directions.

Lime Ridge Open Space

On Sunday’s a regular group of free flight, electric RC, and glider pilots assemble at the end of Court
Lane in Concord CA. for some fun. This is in the Lime Ridge Open Space, smack dab in the
middle of Concord.   It’s a great location for beginners, with a nice elevation for hand launches and is usally maintained very well by the park services for us.

Directions From Hwy 680 -  take the Treat Blvd. exit headed east, Go east on Treat Blvd. 3.8 mls. to Cowell Rd. turn left, Go North West on Cowell Rd. ~1ml. (just past the 1st signal light) turn left on Court Lane
Go all the way to the end and park under the wires.

The Concord Model Airport

The Concord Model Airport is California’s 2nd oldest Control Line Field!  Located at the Corner of Olivera & Peralta Rd at Hillcrest Park in Concord, CA, this excellent facility is CME”s pride and joy.  We have regular scheduled flying and a annual picnic at this great site!
